Q |
How do consumers search for parts on the StoreMakerX solutions? |
A |
A “make/model/year” drill down search OR direct OEM number type-in allowing for ease of use by both the professional and novice parts buyers. Point and click technology is utilized to navigate the catalogs and illustrations. Remember, your clients have access to all parts and illustrations so the system assumes you have the part in stock or can get it. OCTANE (the admin tool for dealers) automatically administers and tracks any parts backordered. OEM numbers are purposely not displayed in order to protect our dealer subscriber’s customers from conducting competitive price shopping with other suppliers. However, when you log on to your system to retrieve orders-- all account, OEM #’s, parts descriptions, quantities and prices will be displayed. |

Q |
Where does the Parts and Accessories data come from? |
A |
For OE Parts data, a hybrid catalog built from several reliable data sources including MOTOR Electronic Data, numerous refined third party reference materials – all of which are cross-referenced and updated monthly utilizing the factory issues data sources for pricing and parts changes. These measures insure the highest integrity and accuracy of the catalog information presented.
For Accessories data, updates are made manually from a number of sources due to the OEM’s lack of database efforts for Accessories data. Accordingly, Accessories data is updated yearly. |
